Title: carb questions
Post by: davipu on July 24, 2004, 07:51:28 PM
ok she stumbles real bad if I open it up at all,  and when I close the throttle the rpm's drop real slowly, also over 4 she isn't firing on the right cylinder, ( i pulled the plug wire off while riding, made no difference in rpm/ power)  and won't run over 6 for any length of time like she's starving for fuel.   I am running a line from the res on the tank to the carbs and the on is capped off, petcock has been removed.  no airbox or filter, homemade restrictors.  open pipes,  plugs are a light grey color  not fouled out.  I can't think of anything else that whould affect it but feel free to ask ?'s

sounds really super lean. did you get bigger pilots and mains when you ditched the airbox? does your idle get progressivly higher as the bike gets warmer and warmer? if it does, you're running quite lean, and should get that fixed. also check your floats.

Hey davipu,
The mid mains might be the problem... I haven't seen a 01+ carb... so I am just guessing. Does your slide lift, and does the diaphragm look good.
Cool.
Srinath.
