It was about an hour and a half drive there and back. On a two lane road that follows the river out of town. The trip was kinda fun and had no problems except for my right hand going numb. The left was ok but my right hand was killing me after a half hour. Does everybody get this or am I just "out of shape" for riding. I usually just drive the bike to work and back everyday (15 min trips) so today was the big ride day. Saw lots of other bikers (since the road is a favorite for riding) and got lots of waving in. I think I'm all waved out! :thumb:
You may be gripping too hard or tensing up. When I switched from a cruiser to my GS I had too much weight resting on my arms. It wasn't comfortable until I repositioned myself on the bike. Find a comfortable riding position and maybe relax your grip a bit. These little bikes take more skill than strength to ride. You'll be fine. Enjoy.
Yeah, I think I may grip too hard. I'll try to ease up. The only glitch I had was there was a guy coming the opposite way and wanted to pass another car but just before we passed each other, he swerved into my lane. A little too close if you ask me. Scared the crap out of me. What an ass. :guns:
i got that on my way to santa barbara.
when it happens just switch hands
takes a little getting used too
or you could just try resting your hand on the grip
it shouldnt slip at least with mine it doesn't
