i'm planning on chopping the existing '04 stock exhaust and somehow getting this welded.
anyone have any experience with muzzy's? on our bikes? did i just make a 100$ mistake?

This is an easy fit... Cut thecan off at the flared part where the can goes on, get a connector that slips over the stock headers, flare it to fit inside this, and weld that to the headers. Then slip and clamp this on.
Cool.
Srinath.
i'm pretty sure fitting it in won't be a problem as I can get it welded at a muffler shop...
i'm curious about the sound...has anyone heard what muzzy's sound like? i'm having second thoughts now...lol specially since i've never heard what these sound like... :?

You might get lucky and not need to do any welding at all. The GS's collector is slightly under 2". but it flairs out slightly where it meets the stock can. That can looks like it has a pretty good "neck" on the engine side of it. You may be able to cut (with hack or saber saw) an inch or two long slot parrallel with the pipe. Get a high pressure pipe clamp (like a heavy duty worm clamps). wrap some exhaust gasket around the pipe. slip on the can, and crank that clamp down.
