Title: Grips for the GS500
Post by: EvilScooby on July 29, 2004, 04:15:10 PM
Anyone know of a good place to order grips that will fit the GS?
I ordered some from Ebay and they were too long and also they don't fit the throttle correctly.

I need some that will fit the throttle sleeve

most of them should fit the throttle tube, just make sure to buy motorcycle grips.  also, make sure you buy open-ended ones.  made that mistake before.

From what i've read through searching here, lots of people dremel the flange off the throttle sleeve.  I haven't been able to find grips yet that accomodate that flange except stock replacement.

Just went through this myself. Ended up grinding off about 10mm from the end of the throttle side (Progrip gels) and the small ridge on the throttle tube to make them fit. Used golf grip tape to install. Works fine but more effort than I planned on.
