Title: PM outbox/sentbox?
Post by: John Bates on July 30, 2004, 09:23:30 PM
Can anyone explain how the PM outbox and inbox work?

Has  PM that I originated and is contained in the outbox been sent?

Likewise for the sentbox?

I searched using these terms and got zilch. I'm confused :x

inbox is PMs coming TO you
outbox has PMs that you sent but that have not been read by the recipient
sentbox has PMs that you sent that have been read

I was trying to equate them (outbox and sentbox) to their use in Outlook Express.

They are not the same! :o

Thanks

And when the Inbox or Sentbox start to approach 100% full, but you don't want to delete any of the messages just yet:Savebox for (temporary) safekeeping.[/list:u]Personally, I save off every PM I send or receive.  (One text file per individual.)  It's a manual process and a royal pain, but it has proven useful more than a few times in the past.  Anybody want an emailed transcript of your correspondence with me?     (Yeah, right.)

The trick is remembering to make a sweep through the various boxes before any of them fill up, because once they're full the oldest message gets deleted when a new message comes in.

I was wondering what I would do with my PMs.

I'll try saving them in an off line text file and see how it goes.

Thanks for the suggestion Kerry
