Title: removing seat lock?
Post by: spdracer75 on August 02, 2004, 11:56:11 AM
Hey everyone,

any tips for removing my helmet lock?

Foir some reason when I do a forum search, the results seem to be every post ever made.

I may have my wife take the lock to a locksmith this afternoon, so pictures, diagrams etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I can put the thing back on in prolly 5 minutes, but  what I need to know is if there are any "gotchas" I should warn the wife about since if there is even one little tiny problem, she will just walk away from it.

Then tomorrow I get the pleasure of walking 60 miles to work.

what kinda helmet locks are you guys talking about? the ones on heathers gs were just little hooks under teh seat, you hook the helmets d-rings on, and lock the seat down, and they were easily removed with a hammer and an old screwdriver....

I wondered too.  But since he's talking about taking stuff to the locksmith to get rekeyed, I figured he meant the seat lock.

Kerry, I thought the seat lock also had a helmet latch too.

BTW My wife managed to get it removed, without telling me to do it when I got home.

Gotta love having a wife who in most cases is just as comfortable with a wrench in her hand as I am. :-)
