this one is now titled, currently running quite well, and in my garage.
the auction failed to mention the blown head gasket.
Sparkplug, I see that auction was in Waukesha, does that mean we have another Wisconsin GSer? Oh, and congrats on the purchase :thumb:

no title is the reason i wasn't interested.

Do you think it was stolen?

maybe not stolen but its certainly a major pain when there's no title. There is always a chance of shady business when the title is gone.
no title makes it hard to register and ride on the street.

Yea but if you need parts or have another GS sitting around it woudl have bee nperfect
I've never had too much trouble with getting a title. Just a couple extra bucks, a cop coming to your house, and some paperwork. I've done it on a bunch of bikes. If it's not going to well you can just go to michigaan and get a title for $10 and about 15min of time.
Yes, manofthefield there is another GSer in wisconsin, but I confess my true love is my 1975 rd350.
Here's some shots of both.

yeah, it's funny, I was thinking he could have parted it out himself and made more $. :dunno:
Some one got a good deal!
Yea parting out usually ends in disaster...
The cosmetics will got quick, and so will guages and easy to yank off parts..., then carbs, tail and headlighs, and other bits that might take a week or 2, and finally the motor and frame, and most bulky bits will sit around for ever... You sell the forks and the bike is now immobile... making it hard to get toanywhere else in your garage...
Cool.
Srinath.
argh and he was from my hometown none the less! oh well my luck he prolly stole it from some gang member and I'd get my @$$ kicked for ridin it around town anyway.
*sniffle*
Cheap GS500, title or no, you could always parts it anyway, or retitle it, or race it... and I was at my girlfriend's house all weekend, so I totally missed it as well. =/
