I wanted to chance the exhaust system for my '04 GSF and was wondering if the V&H is the only exhaust company that makes an exhaust for the gs500. If you could please respond, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
yes...right now that's the only full system available.
there's also the cobra slip-ons if u wanna go that route. F1's and F1r's
What's a slip on?
The motorcycle equivelent of a "cat-back". Just replacing the muffler (the most restrictive & heavy part of an exhaust system) and maybe a foot or so of the exhaust header.
Alot of bikes have a joint in the exhaust headers right after the final collector. Most aftermarket replacement mufflers use this connector so their part a bolts or slips on without needing any cutting or welding, hense the name, "slip on".
most hardware stores carry a good system if you like it loud. it is called a hacksaw
Ahh, thanks JamesG. So would replacing the muffler change the performance of your bike or just the sound? I've thought about it for a while and I'm really not intersted in what it sounds like. I'm just looking for ways to enhance the performance just incase I decide to keep my GS for a little longer.
There is also Nikko. Thay are seriously expensive though. $400 for a slip-on and over $700 for a full system.
