Title: Custom exhaust idea
Post by: dgyver on August 05, 2004, 01:14:38 PM
Not mine (or my bike) but an idea to eliminate the exhaust at the back of the bike completely.
It is on a TLR but the posibilities.......

next summer i'm gonna fabricate a high mount. i'm really excited about it actually
and i'm hoping to start fabricating clip ons when i go back to school and get settled in. they let the engineering students have free reign of the model shops.

Thats EXACTLY what I was looking for!

The problem with the GS is that it needs the 2 into 1 right where it is for the primary length, but that leaves very little room for fitting any kind of baffle. I was thinking of building a kind of car muffler style baffle box design with the gases snaking back and forth under the engine and an exit on the left side. But with a supertrap you can just lopp the pipe off just past the collector and then try to tune the back pressure with the plates.

No garentee that it will work, but it offers the potental of an elegant, simple solution.
