I just saw a Honda 599 on the road yesterday. I thought yummy!

This is the style that I fell in love with the GS500 for.
The 599 is pricey at $7000, but the 919 is only $1000 more at $8000.
I was wondering if anyone has has any contact with either of these machines.
I am interested in how people like em.
I know a guy who has a 919. He likes it but complains about the suspension.
Both of them are WAY overpriced for what you get, previous generation carburated engines, simple steel frames, and really dumbed-down suspension. Yes the look very nice with excellent fit and finish as per honda, but I prefer to ride my bike instead of look at it...
If you could find a cheap used one, the 599 might be fun. Nursing a crashed one back to health with the adjustable front end off an F4, good rear shock, and custom paint and d0-dads might be fun for a decent price.
the market for a used 919 isn't bad if you can find one. low mileage ones seem to going for around 5-5.5k. about the same price as a brand new sv650. if you wait long enough, i guarantee the dealers drop the price on the 599 by a big chunk.
