I've noticed there's been several postings of GS500F's.
Am wondering how many we have total here in the forum. Maybe we can try to get one of the online retailers to pay attention for some aftermarket parts. Specially an exhaust system! lets represent!

loving the bike... could definately go for a bit more power. That would probably be the drawback that I notice the most so far after cruising around. It isn't lightning quick but another 20 hp or so wouldn't hurt.

blue gs500f
my wish list includes:
clip-ons
full exhaust
single seat (for those lonely days)
not sure if the above parts for older gs models would work/fit for an F, would anyone know?
I have a yellow 500F, and I know the local dealer (Rt40 CW) has sold about 15 since March.. So I'm wondering when the rest of the MD gsF'ers will discover the board... Guess they are all out riding. Someone should talk the dealers into putting Gstwin.com hang tags on all the new bikes!

Oops I just realized if I hit the "Back" button on IE after making a post it will create a double post... Crap I've got to remember not to do that.
Blue gs500f here.

o4 500f yellow
everyone should start listing what they would be interested in as far as after market stuff ....and prioritize them. I myself...
1. Jet kit
2. Full exhaust system
3. Rims/wheels for the bling
4. different fairing
5. a life size sexy girl doll :?

Blue F
I think I'd like them to look into revamping the powerplant and maybe some EFI/powercommanders, liquid cooling for future models, but as far as after-market parts. I'd like to have what seems to be readily available for the litre bikes. Then again the GS is usually for beginners isn't it ? That may be why there isn't an aftermarket following for them, the riders will be trading up soon. :dunno:
Blue '04 500f here... would love a full exhaust and a smoked windscreen...
FYI clear alternatives is selling clear tail lights...
man, airbrush, that is one awesome paint job.
how much, ballpark, would it be to get my blue 04 painted black? glossy black if possible?

larry

Yellow F, Bought in March, over 7000 miles on her so far and loving it!!
Blue - picked it up July 26th. I've only got 660 kms (412 miles), and can't wait until the break-in period is finally over.
The only thing I'd like to add to the bike is some Givi hard luggage -- a Wing Rack and two E360's, and evetually one E460.
i got a 04 blue F. I was going to get black, but thought about what it looked like at night. I went for something brighter. My mod wish list is only for a yoshimura full exhaust. I would buy one so fast its not even funny! V&H is no good, dont want that.
04F bright , beautiful yellow.
Sorry to interrupt the "roll call", but did you '04 owners know about THIS? Only $2! (Plus shipping, I suppose.)

I'm sure you could probably flip through one at your dealer's parts counter, too.
Kerry, have you (or anyone else) bought from this online supplier (www.repairmanual.com)? I would like to pick this up, but I know nothing about the site.
Thanks.
Ian
No, I have not ordered from this site before. But their About Us (http://www.repairmanual.com/about.html) page lends an air of credibility, as does the nice "fit & finish" of the site.
BTW, I want to make sure everyone knows that the 129-page 2004 Accessories catalog covers the entire Suzuki line for 2004. I wouldn't expect to see more than 4 or 5 accessories listed for the GS500.
Beautiful Blue 04 too!
Still OT, but thanks. I ordered it anyway...
Blue '04 500F.
So far:
Type II suburbans
clear turn indicators
black trim on windscreen
"carbon fiber" Aluminum levers
chopped fender/chain guard
Will do soon:
15t front sprocket
V&H full exhaust
rejetting
Progressive front springs
...now if there's anything else I can do to boost the ponies I'm all ears.
Its a fun ride and a great learner bike. its preparing me well for next year when I puchase my GSX1300 Hayabusa......I'm not kidding :P I'm a man of extremes
i got a blue '04
blue gsfer in the iowa, illinois, wisconsin area. Give me a shout if you wanna ride some time.
hey ollie357,
got any pics of that F with the SM type 2 bars? My GF is thinking about joining the GSer ranks and we both agree that the only truely ugly part of the bike is the tall bars... I'd love to get an idea of what the lower bars do for the overall look of the bike.
cheers

They have some pics of the type2 on their website.

Blue F
Purchase date: 06/01/04
Current mileage: 4,000 (hit it today, seriously - oil change time)
Current mods:
- fenderectomy
- removed rear quarter reflectors
Future mods before getting the gixxer:
- suburbans (but kinda scared of messing with the all that stuff on the handlebar)
- wider rear tire

I've got one of these ones:

Looks freaking nice in black
will do as soon as i can temporarily "borrow" the digital camera at my lab. I'm gonna try to do it this week.
I got the Suzuki Genuine Accessories 2004 Catalog that I ordered, and now I'm irritated. In the entire catalog, the GS500 shows up a whopping 0 times. Yep... not a single mention, not a single accessory. Heck, the bike isn't even listed on the first two inside pages where all the other Suzuki's are listed. What a joke.
Ian
That'll teach me to check things out myself before recommending them to others.
Sorry about the disappointment.... :dunno:

Not your fault. The catalog is an interesting read, at least. And it might come in handy if I get another Suzuki before the 2005 catalog comes out. I'm irritated with Suzuki. What kind of statement is it when the manufacturer of a product doesn't even (seemingly) acknowledge that product?! :x
04 GS500F (Yellow)
Bought in Flagstaff, AZ. The dealer has also sold a blue one. Yellow is better looking, IMHO. This is the opposite of a beginner's bike for me -- working my way down in size after a Gold Wing, XV920RH, CB750 and assorted others.
Twice crashed Blue F here
2004 GS500F in blue, 2200 miles
if the side fairing were removed how does it look in terms of dimensions compared to the last naked (2002 gs500)?
Is the fairing easy to remove?
How many of you gsf guys ride w/o the fairing?
Thanks.

It would look exactly like a gs500. They are exactly the same just with a fairing.
The fairing is just bolted onto the frame. I'm pretty sure its easy to take off.
I ride with the fairing all the time. I paid for it, I might as well ride with it.
