Do a net search on:
AFM
Willow Springs

CCS also has a region that only runs Cali.

"Willow Springs" aka WSMC?

www.race-wsmc.com used to be their web page, but it diverts you to a new site name now.  I don't recall if they post their rules online, but I think they have one or 2 classes that the GS500 can race in.

Normally requirements are for various things on the bike to be safety-wired, usually everything that hold back some sort of fluid, header bolts/exhaust bracket bolts sometimes.  Other requirements might be a belly pan & steering damper, mirrors, turn signals, & lights removed.

Requirements for rider usually are passing a racer's school, full leathers, newer Snell rated full face helmet, leather gloves, mc boots, back protector.

I've probably forgotten something, but those are the basics.  WERA has their rulebook online at www.wera.com.  That's probably a good place to check the basics.

Also check out www.afmracing.org
They race at Infineon raceway, Thunderhill and Buttonwillow raceways.
The GS can run in 500 twins and either 450 production or 450 superbike (depending on mods). All rules and requirements are on the website.
