Just went today and bought a 98 gs with aunder 7000 miles on it and it runs great. I drove about an hour from where i live to pick it up and I couldn't wait to get it back home and ride. Needless to say as soon as I got back I put on my gear and hopped on the bike and took off. I am now HOOKED !! :) I took it all over louisville and even took it on the interstate for a little bit. I think I rode about 80 miles today. Ain't too bad for my first time owning a bike. I took the MSF course back in may and since then, I have been wanting a bike and I finally settled on the GS cause it is light, cheap, easy to ride, and all around great bike to learn on. The only reason I stopped riding was because it was getting dark and I don't think I am quite ready for that yet. I had such a blast just going out and cruising and enjoying such a nice day of sunshine and 70 degree weather. I can't wait for tomorrow to get here so I can take her out some more. Just wanted to let everyone know that there is another satisfied customer here and a regular to this great site :thumb:

I gotta say, I think I got one of the best deals in history. 1992 GS500E with 14k for $1000. Never been severely dropped, owned by new rider (before my dad bought it), rider getting back into the game (my dad), new rider (my brother) and another new rider (me, of course)!
Start getting some real miles under your belt now!!!

Congrats, nemesis109!!!
And now, the manditory motherly advice  : Stay aware of your surroundings, check your mirrors, assume cage drivers are all blind idiots, and you'll be just fine out there (wise decision about riding in the dark so soon). ;)
