Title: Is this a fair trade?
Post by: gs50000e on August 20, 2004, 03:59:53 PM
My 93 gs  with  12k miles
many mods (gsxr 1100 shock, fork springs, k&n, jet kit, V&H full system)
 very good condition, great looking

Some rust on frame and a worn second gear as is slips out often.

plus $3,800

For a 2003  Honda 919 in great condition with 10k miles

What do you guys tink?

About the best I can do for you is to point to their respective values according to N.A.D.A.:1993 Suzuki GS500E (http://www.nadaguides.com/Values/ValueReport.asp?UserID=5308202627A9D&DID=38219&Type=MC&GCode=MC&wPg=1107&wSec=3&Letter=S&Com=0213&Year=1993&Model=1200012559)

2003 Honda 919 (http://www.nadaguides.com/Values/ValueReport.asp?UserID=5308202627A9D&DID=38219&Type=MC&GCode=MC&wPg=1107&wSec=3&Letter=H&Com=0098&Year=2003&Model=1200005253)[/list:u]Going strictly by the numbers I'd say you're getting the better deal.  Hope that helps!

Sound good to me.  If you try to sell an 11 year old bike you are not going to get much.  New Honda goes for about $8,000 +.
That leaves $4,200.   I say it's a good deal if you know the bike is in good shape.
