Title: need help...Mike Trovero or anybody else ??
Post by: easyrider on August 22, 2004, 01:24:36 PM
I was following Mike's guidelines on the Oil Change.. Everything went well except that when I was tightening the bolts on the Oil filter cover, I did what he said NOT to do... I over tightened the bolts and broke one of them..  I'm still cursing myself..

what do I do now ? how bad is it ?

Thanks

I think Kerry posted a schematic of the bolt.  It has threads at both ends.  You might be able to grab it with vice grips and get it out.  Otherwise you drill it and get it out with an ezy-out.  If that fails just re-tap and put in a new one.  Good Luck.
