Sorry guys & gals... I still ride a zuki but unfortunatly not a GS. Here are some pics of my new SV650S. The GS is really pi$$ed off at me ever since I left her on the corner with a FOR SALE sign hanging from her neck. Anyway, I was a little worried since a few of the magazines referred to this bike as a wheelie monster (No unintentional liftoffs do far). This bike is more like a laid back GS500 (On friggin steroids). This bike revs up a lot faster than a GS.. about 1/4th the time before it hits the red. I almost crapped my pants while I passed a cage and bounced the tach needle off the rev limiter.

So...what happened to the baby GS??? :( She was probably crying..."he doesn't love me anymore, and I give the best I can give...sob..."oh I hope your happy now mister. I love you little GS500, and yes, the GStwin forum too.
Congrats :cheers: Nice SV. I like the yellow, it is very visible! You can also purchase the lower fairing like vtlion did and the whole bike will change ..... hmmm best of both worlds ... sometimes you feel like a half naked bike... somtimes you don't :thumb:
P.S. I have seen some pics of a yellow sv650s with full fairing and it looks sweeeeeeet!

Just wanted to chime in for a sec- I did the same thing. Couldn't be happier with the bike but... I should have waited.
I had a suped up gs and the power was good, handling was great. Payment was 50 dollars lower each month and insurance was almost 2 times lower. Tax title license was over 400 bones.
If you are looking for bang for the buck- the gs will always have it.

Here are some of the + and - so far using the GS as a comparison.
What I like about the SV:
The SV does not need to have valve clearances checked at every service (1st check on SV do at 14k M). This was really killing me sinc I Avg 2-3k a month.
Roll-on power makes highway riding less scary
Smooooth compared to a GS (even though I hear a lot of complaints on the suspension)
Parts,Parts, And more parts.. the GS had little Aftermarket.
No choke... No waiting for the bike to warmup....
It's fast but not too fast
Brakes are so much better on the SV. I can stop much quicker on the SV where the GS would love to skid the rear wheel.
It's easier to load/Unload and push/walk the bike... those 40 pounds make a big difference.
What I don't like:
It doesn't have a centerstand which makes oiling the chain a B****. You can get one aftermarket if you don't mind losing ground clearance.
The radiator sticks out 1-2 inches on each side. Not only does this make it vulnerable in a drop or crash, you can really feel the heat flowing off that thing as it streams across the gas tank (maybe the lower fairing will help with this VTLION?)
Fuel/Mileage is not quite as good on the SV, I get about 150 miles (slightly over 3 gallon fill-ups) before my fuel warning light comes on.
Low speed cornering not as "fun" on the SV. Because of the way the SV handles, I only have to have like 1/2-3/4 the lean angle I would need if I were on the gs at the same speed.
Thats what I can think of at the moment off the top of my head. What other advantages/disadvantages can all the SV/GS owners think of?
They are nice, but I think they could have put some kind of design on there. It looks a big plain.
