Title: Crankcase bolt leaking oil
Post by: Matt V on August 28, 2004, 12:23:57 PM
Hi, the right side of my crankcase is leaking a little.  It looks like the leak is through one of the many 8mm bolts that holds the right side of the crankcase on.  Would replacing the Rt side gasket fix this?  I'm really hoping so because any other cause sounds terrifyingly difficult to fix.  I also notice some oil at the gasket seal so it looks like the gasket is ready for replacing.  Thanks.

Make sure the bolt is tight.  If it's not bad leave it.  If it gets bad or more leaks develop it's time to fix it.
Apparently you missed out on the golden age of motorcycles.
In the old days your bike was expected to leave a puddle everytime you parked it.

Don't overtighten the nuts holding-on the sidecase!  Those can snap off.
