It looks as thought the wiring that used to be behind the frond heaadlight is now sitting out in the open.  I think you'd want to put that wiring into a bag, pouch or box to keep the contacts from corroding.

DUDE ! I'm just about finished saving up for that exact fairing !  heheh..  ANyways, u think they'd be able to get me a tank also??   Cuz I want my bike that exact color, but I have an orange GS500 as we speak.  What year's ur bike?  I have a '98..  iit should fit ok w/ no mods right?

also that $800 didn't include shipping right?  how much was the total price to your door?  and also, did it include the decals that were on the bike?  thanks

Sweet bike dude...

How are you guages mounted? I like them. They gave you the mounts for that too?

Are your clutch and brake levers pointing downwards?

Post by: stefman722 on August 30, 2004, 09:36:04 PM
i like the fairing on my F better, its alot lower to the ground compared to this one, and it sticks out more, and the headlight on the F is better looking IMO, but f%$k man, that is a sweet ass kit. Keep the R, looks good. But what i wanna know, is where you got your pipe? i want it.

Just curious, maybe I missed this in a previous post, but what taillight do you have?  Obviously not stock...

Tony

Post by: TR on August 30, 2004, 10:32:26 PM
Yeah, your taillight looks like a '01 and up, the clip ons were intended to go under the triple clamp, and levers look downward like if pulling then only with your fingertips, the clocks seem to be loose cause they should be attached to the handlebar holder and it is off, the rear fender was painted yellow? or do you have the aluizios tail kit ???

I was told the kit costs US$800 plus $70 for shipping, am I right? The fairing paint and the tank paint differ a bit, don't they?

Otherwise, looks awesome!!!

Post by: nicebelair on August 31, 2004, 05:57:44 AM
well its just a yoshi exhaust i got from sinrath, the tail light is off a 2001or 2002 cbr 600, the undertail i changed by adding fiberglass to make it not curve up soo much then cut the top out to make for more room under the seat.  the color from fairing is off so very very slight but they sent me some extra yellow to match later and carry the same design to the rest of the bike.  yes the clip ons are on top instead of under the triple and the clutch and brake levers are how i like them.  they can match the color very well to your bike even orange, and they can match the original design so you wont have to repaint ur bike, it will fit all years gs500. and came with all mounting hardware. the gauges are mounted to the custom clip-ons they give you and the total for the kit was $800 to my door. half when you order and half when they ship it.  :thumb:  :thumb:
also im tryin to sell this for them so if you really want one you can let me know and i can hook you up with one ok?,

Is that the stock back end?  Or is that the GS500R end w/ a CBR tail light conversion?  If it's not the GS500R rear end, do you know how much it would cost for the rear as well?
Title: new fairing
Post by: nicebelair on August 31, 2004, 02:16:46 PM
i dont have the gs500r tail, just the cbr taillight. and the gs500r tail cost i think $250 and comes with rear hugger also. but i will get back to you to make sure first ok. :thumb:

So the taillight is a direct swap?  Did I read that correctly?

Btw, bike looks great!

I like the carbon fiber tripple clamp.  Did you get that off of an 89' (the tripple clamp) or did that come with the GS500r kit too?  I have clip-ons attached to my '02 forks but I think the old bar clamps sticking out w/ nothing in them look ugly on mine.

If it did come w/ the kit do you know if they just sell the tripple clamp by itself?  I'm going to order the back end of the GS500r fairing but I dont want to give up  the street figter lights I put on mine.
