Title: Using different pilot jets
Post by: joelbear52 on August 30, 2004, 06:11:50 PM
I've been having problems with my bike overheating and the revs going way up when i come to a stop.  I suspected it was running lean.  I was told when i bought the bike it was rejetted back to stock, but when i pulled the pilot jet out it was 32.5.  I went to my motorcycle dealer today to replace them with 40's but they don't have the nonbleeder type.  Do the other ones work or should i order them from bike bandit or something?

Also when adjusting the airbleed screw, do i turn both screws the same amount when checking or do one carb at a time?

I wouldn't suggest using bleeders.  just order them or find a different shop.

Order non-bleeders, Bike Bandit (//www.bikebandit.com) or Sudco (//www.sudco.com) are the best places.

Set both carb air mixture screws the same amount of turns at the same time.

Non bleeders!  I  put in 40 bleeders, assured by the shop they would be fine. WRONG.

See thread "Low speed trouble after rejet" from yesterday.

OK from my experience... 40 non bleed = 37.5 bleeders...
Cool.
