I bought a GS about a month ago as my first motorcycle ever. It is an 89 that had obviously been laid down good on its right side but the price was right - low miles - frame straight etc...
With the help of all whom have contributed to this site I have been able to fix the wobbles I had (by tighhtening the stem - adding air in tires) , Straightening out the crooked fender (push on wall trick) , replace my bent bars and scratched case guards ( saving money big time by going through Srinath) , changing my brake fluid ( by reading the how to threads ) , chopped my rear fender ( thanks to fenderectomy 101 ) , chopped my light stems, and other small tasks.
I am a do-it-yourself-if-u-want-it-done-right kind of guy with a large toolset but had never worked on a motorcycle before and with the thorough help on this site have been able to save a lot of cash makin this bike a dream to ride. THANK YOU TO ALL WHOM HAVE CONTRIBUTED HERE. Your help has been greatly appreciated more than you can know.
I am looking forward to changing my fork springs - jetting my carbs - and replacing my exhaust soon and have already been informed of all the neccessary steps here on this wonderful forum.
All in all - Hi I am a new gs fan and look forward to having a future with this community.
Thanks again.

Oh no we are about to get another one of those... no its contagious... You too have cernunos syndrome... dammit... we have to stop these from spreading... There seems to be no cure... yelling at it only makes it worse.
Cool.
Srinath.
