Title: ? for the GS gods
Post by: frankieG on September 05, 2004, 08:50:51 PM
ok so i am want to improve the performance of my02 with a budget in mind.

the things i wish to improve on are handling, stock tires are terrible, hp and midrange.

going down a tooth in the front should help with the low end and getting decent tires too.  but what is the best on the engine side?  ignition advancer? slip on, full system? or K&N filters.

i humbley solicit your wisdom oh gods of GS  :thumb:

The filters and a re-jet will most likely make the biggest real difference, but dropping a tooth will make it feel a little faster.  I really like the Avon radials on my bike, they improved the handling a great deal.

-Full system (V&H, Yoshi, etc), pod filters, rejet.

-katana or gsxr shock out back
-progressive springs up front (first thing you should do!)
-better tires...bt45's to start, are far better than the stockers. stick to stock sizes or go up to 140/70 or 140/80 out back

-(-1)T up front

-ignition advancer is helpful at lower rpms.

-lower handlebars for handling

see my site for lots of info on these upgrades.
