Title: should i part it out, sell it or fix it
Post by: GRU on September 07, 2004, 04:04:10 PM
i don't know what to do with my bike....the front end is damaged, the froks are bent, wheel is bent, need a caliper, rotor...there is a dent in the tank and some other crap i need to fix.....

i don't know what to do....i don't have lot's of money so i can't throw money away on it.....how much money could i make on parting out this bike.....it's a '92 with 11 500 miles, engine runs great...frame is not bent....rear wheel (stock) is good with a almost new 150/60 radial tire

does anyone know what the best thing to do?

when i ruined the front end on my Honda, i got it repaired for $350-400 (can't remember for sure), parts and labor.
i ended up spending more than that having it towed from the accident scene and to and from the repair shop.
so check your local salvage places and repair shops.

cheers,
will

if you sell it you will get nothing,  i did that when i wrecked my TLR and took a big hit.  looking at the pic i'd say you have quite a bit or work and $ ahead of you.  i suggest parting it....i sent you an e-mail.  my advise, cut your loses get the $ you can and save your bones for the spring .

sorry about the bike...i know what it is like to wreck out :?

Sux for sure. :x   Let me see if I can get you a thread to look at for parting a bike out.  This is a great read (if it works) :thumb:

Title: Question

What can you afford to spend fixing it ??  If it's out of your budget then you will be parting it.

Would a 1985-87 GSXR 18" front end work on the bike. I have one complete but no tire. $350 CDN if you want it. Your stem would have to be put in the GSXR triple or figure out how to mount it.

Good luck then. I have a new never mounted MEZ3 front if you want it. I just ordered a set of BT45s for the GS and don't need this right now.

$75 CDN
