Last week I found and purchased a '96, GS500E, 3200 miles, three lady owners, two or three drops (at least once on each side cover), Black, for $1800. I bought this bike so my girlfriend, who just got her MC license endorsement, would have something to ride. Also I had a ball on the scoot when I test rode it. My other bike is a "98, Suzuki VS1400 Intruder, that I purchased 14 months ago and have since put 24000 miles on it. I found this great website through the recommendation of a member from "IntruderAlert", the other Forum that I have joined. I look forward to picking your brains and learning more about the capabilities of these fun motorcycles. My girlfriend loves the bike after her first 130 miles of riding it and I am happy about that. My first projects for the GS Twin is to "ectomy" the fender, move the reflectors "bob" the turn signals, and dress it up with some gold "Cycle Graphics" flames. I'll get pictures out ASAP, if I can figure out how to insert them on the posts. I use one use Kodak cameras that give me a free digital disk when they are developed, so I am usually a week behind my tinkering with my photos.[/img]
WELCOME! I know you will enjoy the site!

Welcome! Great bike to start with. Your GF will surely continue to enjoy it.
In addition to the home page of this site (where there's a ton of useful info and links) you should visit my site, link below, for even more great info, including another version of the blinkers and fenderectomy ("relocate license" page).
Enjoy!

Welcome!
welcome....looks like you've got one heck of a 'ladies' bike there.
Thanks for all of your comments. Pantablo I was just browsing your site and will use it more. I just completed my own "fenderectomy" and reflector relocation this evening. I am looking for info like you have posted and will keep checking out your site for ideas. I like changing the bikes almost as much as I like riding them. I did buy it for my GF, but I really get a kick out of riding it. I know it will teach me alot, and I will ride my 1400 Intruder better because of trying things on the GS.
