HI,
Can anyone recommend a source for clip ons in canada? How about the install, are they difficult to do? What about the riding position compared to stock, any comments?
thx
check ebay for 37 mm clip-ons
way better than stock
easy to do
what are clip-ons? can someone put up a pic?
i read another thread where someone had installed some vortex clip ons and it lowered the bike causing it to bottom out and also created problems with the bike not sitting properly for the kickstand. Has anyone else experienced any problems like this associated with installing clip ons.
clip-ons are handlebars that attach on the forks
yes, it lowers the bike.....i didin't look close at my friends gsf but maybe you could put them on under the upper triple (the way that is supposed to be).....i made my clip-ons so they are much smaller (the clip-on part is thiner) and it only lowered the bike about 3/4 inch but real clip-ons are much thicker and you may need to lower the front by about 1 1/2 inch
look around the forks under the upper triple and see if there is anything that will be in the way of the clip-on.....if there is nothing then you can put the clip-ons under the upper triple insted of on the top

I wanted to install the clip-ons under the triple but all the cables would hit the fairing.
But you can remove the upper handle bar holder and just raise the forks about 1/2 inch so that you can secure the brackets.
The only problem is that the gauges are mounted to the upper handlebar holder, so you will have to find some way to mount them somewhere.
Oh yeah, mounting the clip ons above the triple resulted in a very very low stance. I would imagine mounting them under the triple would be too low, unless you have long arms.
what do my eyes see here!!!! Some people with a GS 500 F, the one with the fairing, that I like and I would like to buy! :-)
Excuse me for the OT, but... What do you think about this bike? Is it funny enouth for a beginner or is it only a commuter?
Thanks for informations!!!!
