Title: GS500E - fit a GS500F oil cooler
Post by: hotdog on September 15, 2004, 05:45:02 AM
After reading about GS500 over heating (and stuffing up the clutch plates) I called the bike shop to order all the bits off a GS500F bike to fit the oil cooler system on a GS500E(2003 model). The shop rang back with the prices, all the bits will cost $1200+tax AU.  :? RATS!! guess I will have to keep saving.

Did they give you a list of those bits? I'd really like to see what they're selling for $1200....

How much AU$ is a brand new GS500F?

The price for a new GS500F (yellow or blue)=$9,100.00+tax
Mine cost me $7,000.00 new for a 2003 with 2km's that's two not 2,000. With that I got progressive front springs, upgraded rear shock. Thinking about a belly pan. Have to get it from the UK.  Regards Hotdog :thumb:

I've seen a similar oil cooler on the Hondas CBX250 Twister, I wonder if those can be adapted to the GS... it worths a try...
