thats right im taking it this weekend!!!! :o im soo excited!!!! and scared out of my mind...any hints or tips for an upcomming GS'er
Iv'e got mine this weekend also, starts friday night and goes through saturday, its gonna be so much fun!! GL man.
The MSF course is a great place to start out. I just started riding, and as a noob I have to say it was singlehandedly the most helpful thing I've done in regards to motorcycling (besides buying a helmet). When I took the course they did a really good job of easing you into everything. Have fun!
No need to be worried or nervous. It all builds on itself in little steps so you move on to the next, more complicated thing once you've gotten the simpler concepts-true in the classroom as it is on the "range" (on the bikes). They use 250cc cruiser bikes so they're really easy to ride. Relax and enjoy it. Its pretty easy.
Also, when its time to take the evaluation test at the end-RELAX!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU TOO!!! IT IS GUNNA BE FUN!!!!
i cant wait
Ill be postin back in here after the class with a full writeup of how it went. Mainly to help other people who want to take the class but dont know what it entails. Hope it helps some make up their mind about the class. (california the class is required to get your M class license, gotta love cali, safety first!)
Correction, the MSF course is required to get your license when you are under 21 years of age. If you are over 21, you scribble a few lines on a test, walk the bike around some lines, and you are outta there.
Danny, I'll give you my gloves tomorrow, call me and I can meet you on campus or something, I have class at 6-9, or I can drop 'em off to ya on Fri. night too, whatever. We really should go by the fair and find Aaron though, just to take some pictures or something. Oh yeah, it's only 7 bucks to get in.
Anyway, don't mean to hijack so, yeah, good luck to everybody this weekend on the MSF, and don't drag the pegs, the rubber slip covers fly off!
the MSF course is the only seat time I've got so far... :thumb: It's a GREAT way to ease into riding, you'll have fun, don't worry about it
daniely-nice avatar ^_^ Gir rocks
TONY YOU HIJACKER!! lol yea the course is gonna kick ass, and hes right, its only required if you are under 21, BUT STILL HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Anyways, so yea.
Tony, ill give you a call today to get your gloves or get em friday, stacie is lettin me steal her mustang for a couple hours friday night to see if we can get chicks, lol. And sat i guess we should go to the fair, but if we be movin we need to be savin, well i do anyways, lol. Hit me up man.

well day 1 down!!!!.....now im REALLY ADDICTED!!!!..te onley problems i seem to have is doing a slow 90 degree turn....i always go wide...do i just need to turn my head and look more?? :dunno:
Hey Cue,
Yeah, in my class the folks who had trouble turning at low speeds all seemed to ride stiff-necked and with rigid torsos. As long as you look where you want to go, you should be fine. Try not to stress out about the test, it's really just a formality and not a big deal at all.
C
Good luck!
Relax and enjoy yourself. MSF is the best way to learn. :)

Look where you want to go. Keep your head up (don't let your chin drop), and grip the tank with your knees. You may need to "look" sooner than what you are currently doing (your instructor can tell if you need to do this or not).
These are "perishable" skills. It's something you'll need to practice every day until they're second nature, and even then, it's helpful to take advanced and refresher classes. I took a precision maneuvering class a few weekends ago (similar to what highway patrol training is like) and it was like starting over! Great fun, though.
Hang in there!
look where you want to go by turning your head, not just your eyeballs. This will reinforce the notion of looking where you want to go, particularly with tighter turns.
well its over!!! and i passed!!!! the onley thing i got wrong was i put my foot down during the "BOX OF DEATH!!!" im sure you all know what that is... but yes itts over....now i can go enjoy my GS!!!! i pick her up Tuesday!!!! thanx for aLL your tips guys...and be safe... ill see you out on the road :thumb:
