i must be burning oil....cause i know i didnt let any oil out since i filled it up last
man.. don't you read this board?
jk.
gss are known to burn a bit of oil. Some burn up to a quart every 1000 miles.
Jake
Keep a close eye on it - no oil is definitely BAD for a motor. :o

What duuuuude...you dont read this board Jake42...some GS'es use a quart in 250-300 miles...
Cool.
Srinath.
The GS throws out a lot of oil at high rpms. Just keep an eye on it.
Need more evidence? See the thread NOOO!!! engine seized. (http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9515)
In richard's case the oil all poured out because of a loose drain plug. But the same thing will eventually happen on a bike that slowly burns oil - if you don't keep it checked and filled up.
And most GS burn oil. I know mine does.
a quart every 250-300.
geezus.
mine's not that bad, even when i had the leaky oil filter casing.

is no blood all that serious.....slit a wrist ... lose about 2 liters and see how you feel.....
just kiddin but it does apply
Don't argue with the Landscrape Technician!!
lucky for me my oil light let me know I was really low on oil. I filled it up... used roughly a quart in 1500 miles...its an old engine.

You'll be happy to know my 1977 GS400 didn't burn any oil at all. ;)
At least that Richard guy lived in the same town as Kerry. I don't have anybody to help me with my re-build!
Keep that dip stick wet. Re-building an engine sucks.
