Avon Azaro II Sport AV39 and AV40 Tires? I thinking of getting a pair of ebay for the fronts and rear.
Also is $82.95 each delivered a good deal?
I ran an AV40 on the rear of my 01 gs. I thought it was a pretty good tire. It had a tendency to squirm under initial acceleration (I read it was because of the deep tread blocks) which unnerved me a bit but once used to it I was fine.
Never failed me and while it wasnt up to the standards of the pilot sport I had on there prior it was a good tire. I wouldnt get it again though because of the squirming feel. This was only when starting from a stop.
I cant remember what I paid for them but it seemed like more than that. You might have to research that one.
What exactly do you mean by "squirm". Did they break out or felt like loose?
at the moment when the tire goes from standing still to moving the tire feels like it moves side to side a tiny amount, like its got low air pressure. That's the best way I have to describe it. Never felt anything like that any other time with those tires and I ran them pretty hard in the canyons.
I see. Thanks for the input. What sporty tires do you recommend for around that price range?
I loooooove avon.... makes my skin so soft and smooth... and my wife loooooves it too ... Oh Avon tires... dont put avon on your tires... that will make it also sooooft and smooth... not good...

I put the AV45 AV 46 radial combo on my bike this past spring.
Front is stock size (110/70/17) rear is 140/80/17. Hardly notice the very slight lift at the rear.
Nooo problems...secure, stable ride. Locked on in corners (UNlike the excedras) and wearing well so far.
Check around because everyone has em and prices differ.
Remember, if you find a great price but are not confident in the sller, Dennis Kirk will beat anyone by a buck.
Good luck.
