I read another article that said it was a Honda 1000. I guess they were talking about the 1000rr. 140 OVER the speed limit... wow. I thought that bike was only capiable of 180-190, so there might be some error. Sucks to be him.
With mods I think you can get the big bikes up there in speed. Couldn't have been a GS though, they top out at like 110 without doing a lot of work to them. What did Bob say his racing one hit? Like 135? 205 in our wildest dreams perhaps. ;)
I love that the guy didn't have a license either.

Sorry, officer, I was in a really big hurry to get to my funeral....
I would like to point out in an interview on another web site by the helicopter that witnessed this, he wasnt "Clocked" by radar. The guy timed him with a stop watch from one white line to a quarter mile to get his quarter time, which was like 4 seconds or some rediculous number. Then he calculated his speed to be about 205 (could be wrong with his math or the quarter distance in either case).
Radar? We don't need no stinkin' radar!! Just love that littl GS, the forum and the .45 auto.

that's a legit way to get a speed reading.

It'll give you an average velocity, which will be slower than your top speed unless you maintain a constant speed... so, yikes.

License or no license, that was just plain stupid.
However, i have to admit that i had a good laugh at the part about "Only the faster one was arrested." Guess it's better to come in 2nd in some cases.
It's lucky he didn't hit someone/something--you can only imagine the backlash against biking that would've caused.
Holy maloly...what happened to the Roadstergal?? Check them bug-eyes out!! Love the bike, the forum and the Hi-Power.
