Title: What will we talk about when riding season is over?
Post by: SuZuki10 on September 22, 2004, 08:55:28 PM
Ya'll better keep up the posting as our little baby GS's hibernate over the winter!!  (Well, those of us in the parts of the world who get the crappy white stuff for about 5 months)

UVM won't let me keep my bike here in anyway. I'm bored to death without it.

Only difference is snow makes walking to class suck

I believe winter is what spawned the odds n ends area last year.

Half of us will complain we can't wait to ride, and envy those without winter seasons.  The other half will say that they ride year around no matter how bad the weather gets and we should just get warmer gear.  Of course these folks are usually from places were it just rains alot and get down to a fridgid 40F at night.

Then there is usually at least one MY winters worse than YOUR winter thread.

Personnally winter is the time to tear apart and fix whatever was bugging you all summer since you we're to busy riding to fix it then.  :)

This is an old joke, so pardon me if you've heard it... But I made it up so might not have heard it...
Man You northerners are so luckly... You have a "riding season"... we from the south just have to make do with riding whenever we can...

As the riding season winds down, the major motorcycle project season begins. (see grafting fz700 forks, swingarm wheels and brakes onto a 1974 rd350) I'm certain the 'ol GS will get some attention too.  I don't think we'll run out of topics.

P.S.  wish i still lived in scottsdale.

Don't look now, but I took this picture a few minutes ago:

And that's after 2 or 3 days of melting since the early cold front that came through!

OK, OK -- the summit of Mt. Timpanogos is at 11,750 feet and I'm down here at 4,800.  But (shudder) it won't be long now....
Title: winter projects
Post by: Aceluck on September 23, 2004, 01:20:54 PM
we'll talk about our winter projects.  For example, last year we fitted a gsxr swingarm, shock, wheel and running gear to a 1983 honda CB750K. We also put on a ZX7R USD fork and front end, a corbin saddle, braided lines, and rebuilt the engine.

So my buddy now has a 83 CB750K with the suspension, handling, and braking of a late model sport bike.  And it looks bitchin' too.

Lined up for this winter is a 900 engine transplant into his CB, painting my SVS, and who knows what else.
