so they do fit the 2004 models, we know it fits the 2001..
:)
Yup. Got one on my '04. Bent the stock in a crash, but was gonna change it anyway.
BTW I make these ... the same cut and the same angles... page 23 WOF... I still dont like them for the 04 though... I have to get the bike (there is one I will get my hands on in a few weeks...) and fit 2-3 different bars and make the right pattern before I'll say yea these are the ones... these have the brake banjo hitting the dash, mine dont cos mine a ~ 1 inch longer so you can move it away, but still aren't ready for prime time on a 04 just yet... BTW They fit a 90-02 well ... and the 2 weld and 2 bend bar for a 90-00 is still better due to the rod inserted and welded... I have a few of those left before I change to the no rod design...
Cool.
Srinath.
Sorry for a possibly dumb question. How are they better than the stock ones?

Its a lower position more like the clip-ons. It also gets you lower to avoid the wind blast.
Cool, you're from Tuscaloosa. I'm about an hour north, I lived in T'loosa for 5 years, still have friends there.

Now I get it, thanks! Yep, I from T-town :) I am a student at UA.
Mine is all I can speak for... Some of this also applies to the SM's... soe does not...
The 2 bend and 2 weld... was fitted on a GS and was perfected for position and fit and ... as a result, it fits on a 90-00 GS like it was made for it... cos it was. The bars have a very 89 clip on like feeling, with the differences being they are a touch wider... 89 clip on's have fit issues as well, if you put thicker grips on them... and a touch lower... other wise they feel the same. They in present form are incredibly strong... being 1/8th wall and rod inserted and plug welded at the welds... as has been proven by Mercdude's unfortunate manhole cover crash... They are flat and they lower your body into a better tuck... so if your wrists hurt under the regular stock bar useage... stay away from these... they will make it worse. If your lower back hurts then these might help... they make you lean into the wind and counter wind with your own weight. The lowering of the heavy parts... your upper body... they make it handle better as well. They also make your hands feel well connected to the front end.
The 4 weld. They are even further forward... and are at a little more of an angle... Very comfortable, and strong... but dont have the bar inside... but still they are strong... and they also feel good, and lower you etc... but they have the extra 1 1/2 inch reach making it more of a stretch... ideal for longer body/hands.
Mine are made from 1/8th wall steel and are powder coated black. The SM's are stainless steel.
Cool.
