Title: GS dilema *sigh*
Post by: the_ted on September 29, 2004, 07:56:45 PM
ook, so my '89 is going along well, sourced out a new master cyl/front caliper, so I can change the brakes.  talking to a coworker today, and another guy at work has a '98 GS sitting around collecting dust (it was given to him), and so we got down to talking.  provided it's got all it's papers  ;)  he said he's sell it to me for $400.  First thought was a sweet donor for my '89!  but I'm sure it'll be in better condition, so would it just be easier to swap the top triple and clip ons from my '89 to the newer bike and call it a day?  It would kinda be cool to keep most of the '89, since that way I'll still really have an '89, not a '98 w/89 handlebars.  I was kinda keen on tearing my bike down anyway, since I want to learn how it ticks, so that's why I'm stuck... learn to tool on the bike? or get one that's immediately ridable and be done w/it?

ack! I don't know what to do!  :dunno:

Yeh, hey take two and make one, but I think the '89 is sweet looking, the tank is so sexy and the bars look bad to the bone. Yeh, mix and match the best but keep the '89 look! Love that little GS and this forum.

This call for a set of srinath bars... slap those on the 98 and the 2 bikes are now identical for riding position...
Cool.
