Title: Hey Guys, Long time no post!
Post by: BigRedMonkeyButt on October 01, 2004, 10:07:46 AM
Hows it going?
I dont know if you really remember me or not, but I was in here looking for a GS for my wife a while back.

Well, I thought I'd update you on the story.
I ended up buying her a 2000 SV650.  It is her first bike, but she's used to riding on the back of mine, and it was a good deal, so I jumped.

Well, we've had the SV for a little while now, and she doesnt really like riding it.  She's intimidated by it cause it is too powerful for her.  :dunno:

Thats kindof why Im back on here.
I think she might get into riding if she could have a bike that was less powerful and a little more friendly (ie less torque, less engine braking).
So, I may be getting back into the market for a GS500.
You think I ought to so something like a trade out for a GS??

Oh, and is Srinath still selling his custom bars?  Im wondering if I might be able to put one on my SV.
Title: Bars yes...

I have sold 1/2 a dozen to the local SV club... I made some 4 weld bars ...they fit the GS as well and I have it on my 95, but guys with SV's (2003+ bikes) have been all over them. FWIW...the 2 bend and 2 weld will fit and are better on the SV also, but 1 guy bought them and everyone has pretty much decided that the 4 weld one is what they should have. Anyway... short answer is yes... check page 23 on the WOF, maybe I should get with werase and fit the bars on the 2000 SV he has, and send you a pic... Anyway see the pic and let me know... the 4 weld does fit,and the SV is narrower in the middle than a GS... so its easier to fit a SV.
Cool.
Srinath.

When are you looking to buy a GS? I'm in Dayton Ohio, and mine will be for sale in Febuary. Looking to buy an SV650 also. Is it the S model? Are you getting rid of it soon, or this spring? Maybe a trade plus cash  :P

Yeah, probably Spring, unless she changes her mind.
Its a Naked.

Trade + cash?  That might work.   What do you have?
