In a recent thread sqealing brakes were mentioned, my rear brake has been fairly noisy since I got the bike new (06-03) I thought this was something I just had to live with but this product for cleaning brake discs and clutches claims to eliminate the squeal, anyone tried anything like it???

That's in UK? Why don't you try some brake quite stuff from Autozone or some other auto parts store? I had some experience with similar stuff on the car and it worked for me. However I have a terrible squeling from my rear brake, the front one is quiet. I should try to do something about it.

cal i,m not sure about that product ..but my rear brake squels..i have stripped pads out every week and copper slipped em..all to no avail....alltho the shims arnt there..so i might have to try some and see.. :thumb:
usually the brakes will squeak w/ new /newer pads because they havn't "worn" in yet. I would clean the pads really well and give the rotor a light cross hatch with some 220 sandpaper or the sort and then clean everything up real good and put it all together and "reseat the pads". I know the above worked on my bike, but is no means a "lazy mans" way of fixing the squeeking :nana:
My '04 rear brake squealed up to 2,000 miles. I adjusted the chain and it no longer squeals. It doesn't make any sense so I guess it's just coincidence.
I'm glad i'm not the only person w/ an obnoxious rear brake... I find myself hardly using it b/c it's so annoying. One day I'll tear it down and see if I can't find the culprit. :guns:
