Title: painting the Suzuki SV650 type 2 bars
Post by: MountainDew on October 07, 2004, 06:17:10 PM
I just got my Suzuki SV650 type 2 handle bar and when I was ordering them I saw some picture of the bars on a GS500 and thought they look alittle to plan. Im thinking about painting them black because the stock ones are black and I like how they look on the over all look of the bike, So I was wondering if anyone has painted the Suzuki SV650 type 2 handle bars black and how did you do it?? did you take them somewhere or did you paint them yourself??

I havent done it but I've recently painted some metal stands...you can send it out to have powdercoated (maybe $25-$50) or you can sand them lightly and rattle can paint them your self (prime them first). I just did bare metal with black primer and black paint and they came out great.

paint the whole thing. or not under the grips-might stick to the grips when you go to take them off again, cant say for sure...

Im sure the dealer will put the bars on for you. I'd guess $50.
