Title: Throttle grip
Post by: nemesis109 on October 08, 2004, 04:17:41 PM
I just put on a set of srinath 2 weld bars and I am having a problem with the throttle grip. It is way too tight on the bar. It doesn't snap back after I roll off the throttle. Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this? I was thinking of buying some snadpaper and sanding the blcak powder coat off, but I don't know if that will make it more prone to rust. Any ideas? :dunno:

I believe that Srinath suggested sanding down the powder coat - powdercoat is very thick.  Before sanding you might try a thin layer of grease under/inside the throttle tube.  If that did not work, I think I would sand to bare metal and then put a thin coat of primer on that part of the bar.

Yep the sandpaper worked. Didn't even have to sand it all the way down to the bare metal.
