Title: New guy on the Block...
Post by: Elite421 on October 14, 2004, 03:06:17 PM
Hello, my name is Alex and i have just purchased my first bike. yep your right its a Gs500E. Shes a 1990 and she only has 11500 on the bike. The price was right and for me never owning a bike nor having much street riding experence i listned to the experts and went smaller. Im located in Northern Virginia and i will be looking for people to ride with at some point.

I have found quite a few web sites dedicated to the GS500, i havent found to may sites for parts however, not that im looking to get to much but some small aftermarket pieces to add my own flair is a must. So if anyone has some good sites they use please let me know! Also and tips and advice from the pros would be helpfull also.

Anyways i just wanted to introduce my self as i plan on browsing and posting on here quite frequently.

See you all around!

welcome alex! wise choice for a first bike. I suggest taking the MSF course if you havent already and reading the books, "Twist of the Wrist II" by Keith Code and "Sport Riding Techniques" by Nick Iensatch.

Not many places for aftermarket but try http://www.whaccessories.com/GS500Accessories.htm
for some cosmetic stuff.

Before you invest in any parts though just ride the thing for a while before you start to mod it... :? . Also check out my site for loads of info.

thanks for the info, pantablo. Im not going to go to much into modding the bike as i plan not to have it that long, there are just a few pieces that are starting to rust, or just look real old, and as this season is comming to an end here. So im planing on cleaning the hell out of her and restoring the bike a little. Just to make her a little more appealing, and i got to get rid of the purple windscreen!
