This is what my bike used to look like and now it looks like this:
This happened during the bmf tail ender this year. As I only live about a mile from the showground it looks like somebody doing a bit of nocturnal shopping! Not only was it stripped but it was set alight aswell.  :x Now the insurance company looks like it wont be paying out I have a bit of a restoration job to do on it! Oh well, better get the tools out![/img]

That's just so wrong.  I mean, how much money are they going to make on ebay on GS500 parts?

ouch... you're gonna need more than tools to put that one back together.  Why didn't they just take the whole bike?  That sucks man  :(

The only things that are left are the most traceable items, which means that some unsuspecting UK GS rider has either bought or stolen some of my bike and the rest was dumped and torched. I found the bike(bits) at a well know roundabout that is used by Performance bike magazine in their photo shoots. The worst part of it is I had ordered CCTV to put around my house to avoid this and the cameras were delivered the morning that my bike dissapeared! Talk about bad luck eh? Me?.....Gutted?.....just a little!!!!

Christ man. I'm no lawyer, but I do believe that if you catch someone in the process of doing shaZam! like this and you then sneak up on them with a bat and just begin to beat them to an unrecognizable pulp, I mean broken arms, legs , missing head, internal organs spewed everywhere....I think thats only treated as a misdemeanor or something, like a $50 ticket....I could be wrong though.

....we should string 'em up like in the days of horse thieves. or better yet, tie'em to a pocket bike, put it in gear with a locked throttle and let them sail off a cliff! :)  that would be some funny shaZam!....America's funniest snuff videos....

that really pisses me off....I broke things because of it.  messing with someone else's vehicle is against the rules....

Just got to wait for the insurance bods to let me know what they want to do with it, I was told by them that I can dispose of it but I dont want to jump the gun. I shall let you know when I do. Good little runner, I had it from new and I wont hesitate to buy another GS.
At least I know that in death, my bike will help another GS live on.........(contented sigh!) :(

yup, 8500 miles, full service history and no problems whatsoever. I`ve just got to clean it up. On close inspection I found the motor to be relatively untouched, only the carb rubbers are fire damaged and the exhaust connectors are missing.

yeah, i can deal with the car connectors, and the exhaust connectors are attached to the exahust pipe itself.

where are you located?

Thanks a lot!

I'm VERY INTERESTED.

wow, that's really rough.  i thought my roomate hd it rough when i got home from my girlfriend's one morning to see his honda shadow tipped over, then to find out that while tipping it over, the guys had taken his rainsuit and bungee cords out of his saddle bags.  but man, at least his bike didn't get stripped down.  sorry to hear it man.
