Ok its some hard and impure shaZam!... K non weldable too... no wonder they got lots of it and on clearance too. And funny thing I cant find 2024 in that site... 6061, 7075 found all of that... lots of chromium in them... but what is 2024 then. They got some of that... he said it was machinable and weldable ... when I asked him about 2011 he laughed and said ... that's garbage man... machining 2011 is going to be OK, but they dont have what I need for fork braces... that's gonna have to be 6061 I think. That is $$$...
Cool.

Strenght wise it is pretty strong stuff. The values listed on the website show it to have a yield strength of like 43Ksi, which is 290MPa, as compared with a heat treated 6060 T6 with a yield strength 276 Mpa,

So it can take more stress before it plastically deforms  ;)
but probably a crap to machine :dunno:

Even 7075 is supposed to go like butter... probably will machine out well ... The drills literally feel like they are in butter when drilling 6061... But the guys want it to be weldable, else its useage opportunity is much lower... hence they got it on clearance ...
Cool.
