Wow those are some pretty cheap rates. Let me tell you about my insurance:

I have progressive insurance at it is costing me around $1700 per year. I am 19 years old, I don't have my motorcycle license (yet - I have my permit), I have not filed any claims, I have not gotten any tickets or have been in any accidents, my bike is parked outside - not in a garage or anything, and the bike is also not secured to anything.

With that in mind, here is my coverage:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BODILY INJURY & PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY - $100,000 EACH PERSON - $300,000 EACH ACCIDENT (INCLUDES PASSENGER COVG.)

PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY - $50,000 EACH ACCIDENT

UNINSURED/UNDERINSURED MOTORIST  -  $100,000 EACH PERSON - $300,000 EACH ACCIDENT

UM PROPERTY DAMAGE $3,500/$0 DED

COMPREHENSIVE $250 DEDUCTIBLE

COLLISION $250 DEDUCTIBLE

CUSTOM PARTS & EQUIP $1,000 OR ACV $100 DED FREE

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm happy with it, especially considering I live in Los Angeles. Since I registered the vehicle in Northern California I also purchased insurance for Northern California, and by doing that I get it about a thousand dollars cheaper.

Well the bike is about a month and a half old (it's an '04 500f). Even if I reduce the comp/collision drastically it only reduces the policy down maybe $100 at most. That said I guess I just need to get my license and have a good record for three years. Perhaps then it will go down significantly.

honestly I'd probably keep full coverage since your bike is faired..

dufoes: dude that is some $$$$$ insurance!!

I also got a quote at about $1500 through Progressive when I first started looking. I almost didn't get into motorcycling because of that!

Try McGraw, I pay $542/yr as a first year rider. It's supposed to drop down to $473 after 1 year of riding.

How do you get a quote from McGraw??

With liability, comp($1000 deduct), and collision($1000 deduct), my progressive quote was less than $500, if i remember correctly. i might not be.  :dunno:

For me, 20, no tickets, not in Atlanta, just liability is only $156 a year.

The more insureance you get the better. Trust me on this I am watching my brother go threw over a Million in medical it doesn't take much and when you take insureance take the uninsured underinsured  cus if you get popped and they only have state minimum you are going to have a problem with money do yourself  your family and alll your friends a Favor Get  at least a 250000 coverage and write a note as to medical instructions stick it right next to your Licence saying call this person in the event of an accident.....  Its not pretty to get hit .... My brother Has been off work for over 8 months and is just getting his Licence back from the state.. Yes the state revoked his licence because he had a head injurey... But do want you want

My liability is $1500 and that is for nothing else. Freaking Ontario Insurance (though health care is free...so I guess it's worth it)

In NYC Geico quoted me $2800 for a fully insured 620...i'm sticking with Foremost/Allstate at about $1800 with $500 deductibles. This is about $200 more than i was paying to insure my '02 GS. :bs:

I had Progressive on mt '01 model.  I paid $200 per year for full coverage.  Liability would have only been $39 per year.  The bike was financed, so I had to get full coverage.
