Title: couple questions about jets...
Post by: se7enty7 on October 30, 2004, 11:23:29 PM
Okay I have a set of carbs.. I took the bowl off and the main jets say "134"....

They came off of a totalled bike that had yoshimura exhaust...

are they jetted?  Eventually I will end up with pod or the lunchbox K&N and a "wiley's" carbon fiber exhaust (from srinath the gs god..)

With the pods and wileys what jetting shoudl I use?

how about the lunchbox and wileys?

I would *prefer* something a little quiet... but I suppose people would be able to hear me better so i dunno,,,

What your bike has 134... or you buy carbs with 134's... check if the needles are adjustable, compare them to the stock needles and the adjustables should be thinnner in the bottom 1/2 inch... a lot thinner ... no need to remove them... lift the slides up all the way, and compare the needles... the thinner portion should be visible on the carbs that have the 134's.... If yes, Then with a lunch box and my pipe you'll be good.
Carbon can is rather quiet. No problems... its quiet for you and probably a bit louder for those around you. You still have your carbs right... if you want to keep the airbox for now, do a 40/125 combo on it with 1 washer and 3 turns on mix screw. The UNI you have in the air box and stock pipe or slipon ... that combo will be good. Later just 150's will work for lunch box... The lunch box makes for good outright top speed ... every where else the UNI in air box is a close match for it. 7500 rpm+ is where Lunch box starts to work better. So see how often you do 7500 (and no revving to 7500 in your driveway doesn't count ... under load... 5th or 6th gears only   ) In a sense I am circumventing your 134 carbs... just sell it back into Gstwin or hold on to it for a spare...and soon your garage willlook just like mine ...   ... Yea factor in 8 bikes that I got parts for, and the fact that I'll try to shoe horn anything into anything... so I have a lot of shoe horns...
Cool.

Yea you bought mercdude's carbs... dammit... he had heaps of trouble getting them to run right, and I have fixed 3 botched up DJ kit jobs... I'd stay with your carbs and jet them and use those as spare... and he'd be the best resource on them...
Cool.

Hell yes. I need to run it on the bike of course, and I have to show horn the O2 sensor back in ... But you can do it just as well ... someone who wants 36's on the GS should know them well I feel.
Cool.
