Title: Pods question
Post by: Dom on November 01, 2004, 10:11:20 PM
Think these will work? I had a couple of these laying round the garage.

They bot fit in the cavity, though it's kind of a squeeze.

Well the 62 will fit the mouth, but the 95mm OD might cause them to hit each other... try it... WTH...
Cool.

Title: Pods question
Post by: Dom on November 01, 2004, 10:23:57 PM
I know they both fit in there, I was just worried that there might be issues with too much airflow.  But I just read a thread that gives me the idea that they won't be a problem, nothing that I can't compensate for with proper jetting.  What do you think, srinath, stick with the #150 mains, 2 washers, 3 turns?  I thought I read somewhere that somebody used #154s with pods..

Yea you can also angle them outward... and no 154... not a valid jet size ... 150 is the largest no matter how much air these will let in... cos the bike can only suck what it can suck ... and a lunch box pod will send in plenty for the motor... 40 and 150 are the largest you can fit and any larger they make you lose rpm and power up high ... unless you lived in Alaska and rode it all winter.... If you have a flowed and decked head ok 150+ is fine and so is 40+... I know of someone who has 155 and 45 with a stock carb set... decked and milled and polished ports with much larger valves...

Title: Pods question

It just occurred to me that the only reason those filters fit is because of the 20 degree bend in the neck, what luck!  I have the most flowing gs ever!...ok, well maybe I will once I polish...anyone dyno'd before and after polishing?  Proly, maybe that's why people do it...doh!  Anybody dynoed a GS b4 and after polishing?

So you think same settings for pods and lunchbox, eh?

Your pod should use the same jetting as all other pods ... 40/150/3 turns/1 washer...
Cool.
