Ok so this is part II of my earlier post "Sudden deceleration -> stall".
Even when warm, bike will die if I dump the throttle if i'm above 5-6k rpm (hold the clutch in and letting the throttle drop from 5000 -> 0 rpms). This isn't even during a sudden stop, just cruising at 5-6k rpms in 3rd/4th/5th gear. :x
It also dies when:
- I dump the throttle and it's still a little cold from a lower rpm (3-4k rpms).
- During warmup and I move the choke a little too quickly to the off position and the rpms drop too suddenly.
Initially the thought was that my choke was stuck a little open. I thoroughly inspected the choke cable and made sure the choke was closing completely at the carbs. The cable didn't seem bunched whatsoever and moved the plunger easily.
I'm thinking it does have something to do with the carbs, float height, etc. I never synched the carbs at 7,500 miles and I'm up to 10,000 miles. Should I synch the carbs first or just bring the bike in to the dealer and have them check it out? I really am beginning to despise the carb setup. I should have gotten a SV at least their fuel injected!!! :x :x
my guess would be that you are getting an extremely rich condition, causing the bike to stall. don't know enough about carbs to tell you where to start looking though.
