Has anyone installed frame sliders on their GS500? If so, is the install easy? Where can one purchase the frame sliders?
You could try these, about half way down the page.

NO... there are no frame sliders for the F models, the fairing prohibits it. You can get case guards, but they're just protection against low speed/standing drops, not actual frame sliders. I would normally do the search for you, but I've been up for going on 22 hours now, and I'm gonna crash. Hopefully one of the other FOGs here will step in and do it for me. If you do a search for "Frame sliders" or "srinath frame sliders", you should probably get more information than you'll ever want.
No frame sliders on the F because the fairing bolts to brackets that are bolted onto the frame. There is too much space between the fairings and the frame for frame sliders to work. Case guards work on the E models and protect the engine casings. The frame is fairly safe from most scratches and stuff anyways.

As usual, Alpha merely echoed what I said. Look at him. He can't even get his own avatar, he had to take mine, flip it, and call it his own...
Spoken like a true noob
There are a set on ebay for like $25 for E models - list 99-02, but if it fits a 99, will fit all

Harr harr harr. I need to make a little copy/paste txt document of all my standard responses to questions such as "Can an F fairing fit on an E", "Are there any exhaust options for my GS500F", "Where can I get frame sliders for the GS500F", and more!
that would be better than a link, which is what some people used to do... :icon_rolleyes:
