Title: GS engine series, engine mounting
Post by: cranky on November 13, 2004, 06:18:41 PM
Do all the GS series engines mount the same?  for instance does a 70's 750 0r 425 mount to the same points as a GS 500?

The mounting points for the GS450 must be virtually identical to the GS500 because at least one owner has done a lower end swap.  Suzuki's dinosaur inline-4's use the same mounting points as the twin but are likely to dimensionally very dissimilar.   :dunno:

yeah, but the 500 exhaust ports and intake ports are differnt from the rest.  the intakes can be workd around, but the exhaust ports for the 500 are close together and come straight out of the head, most the other engines (non 4 cyl) come out at angles.

I looked at the GS550 series head as a 4v swap but the exhaust ports are a lot closer together...  Don't know about the lower end mounting.
