Title: 01+ tank and R6 tail, a harmonious duo?
Post by: Dom on November 16, 2004, 12:48:51 AM
01+ tank, looks cool.  R6 tail on a GS, looks cool.  01+ and R6 tail together???

Just wondering if the plastic matches up alright.  I know for the R6 tail I have to conduct major surgery...not a problem.

It would look like this: http://pantablo500.tripod.com/pablosgs500page/id13.html

Except with the 01+ tank.

And I REALLY like the undertail exhaust.  I don't care what I have to hack off to do it either.  Ok, I wouldn't hack off anything but I might be willing to sell my left one.

Minus the paint scheme that is...

Your right...no room for rear travel with an undertail.  I've seen one or two GSs with undertail but the seat was propped way high.

tt_four has an R6 tail on his bike...

I'd get pictures but I've gotta do some homework and I know all of you can use the search quite effectively.

Another thought on undertails...gotta worry about plastic melting/super loud/routing the pipe up around the subframe/brake master cylinder.  PITA, for what it gets you (not much, IMHO.)

With the help of my sisters BF, we have come up with an EXCELLENT idea, better than any i have seen on the boards to date. Gimmie a couple days to work out the specifics (until monday) and i will post a full writeup. If this works....by golly it would be the BEST thing to happen to a GS. My oh my i cant wait...hehe....
