Title: glove question (do they break in)
Post by: se7enty7 on November 17, 2004, 01:15:58 PM
I ordered gloves... size medium... and while their sizing chart puts me at a medium they feel small... like my fingertips go all the way to the end..   I dunno.  Will they break in you think?  How is newenough on exhanges?

Gloves do not stretch very much. Having gloves too tight will become uncomfortable. New Enough is probably the best online place for no-hassle exchanges.

hmm.. ok.  They feel okay around the palm of my hand, but my fingers seem a bit too long.  It's kind of difficult to grip the handgrip because there isn't enough material to stretch over my knuckles

I guess ill call them.. bleh

New enough is excellent for exchanges, in fact, the give you a 15 day trial. Just phone or email em up and let em know you need a size bigger. Just send em back. Great company!

they do break in from my experience. what kind of gloves do you have? i had bought a medium size gloves. at first it was tight enough that it hurt my hand to make a grip. after a couple of weeks they fit me perfrect.

Well... I bought joe rocket blaster... I setup an exchange for teknic chicanes in size large.

the problem is the length of the fingers more than the width of the glove...

Are they leather? Remember leather stretches. My gloves where a little tight but now they're just right.  It takes time, the more you wear them the more they stretch. If you buy the next size up, when they stretch they might not fit correctly anymore. Just my .02

Ya, my Joe Rockets stretched out a lot.  They were nice a snug at first, and almost too big now.  I like em a little on the tight side (yes, talking about gloves here..) so I have better dexterity with the levers and stuff.

i've had two seperated experiences with glove fit. this was before i had bought my first glove.

one of my friend had joe rocket phoenix 2.0 glove. it was large in size. it fit my perfect. i tried it on after it was all broken in. it was too loose to be comfortable.

another friend had bought a medium alpinestars s-mx air carbon...when i tried it on it was too tight i thought. i could barely make a grip without being uncomfortable. well, a few weeks later, i tried it on again. it was perfect!

I have the opposite problem, my fingers are short, so I had to buy those Olimpia women gloves, so there were not too much empty leather on the tip, but they were a little tight as women hands tend to be more delicate, now, after a couple of years the gloves are perfect, they stretched out so my hand has enough room and my nails scratch the bottom of the glove's fingers, even my fingertips are marked on the leather, he he... The bad thing is now they are perfect they started to rip.

However, if your gloves seem too short, I don't think they necesarily stretch longitudinaly, exchange them!!!
