Here is my latest endeavor. It is a lift station from a conveyor system. I am going to convert it into a adjustable lift stand for servicing my motorcycles and stuff. It has a hydraulic cylinder but uses compressed air operated by a foot switch. Has a 2000 pound capacity. Need to add a longer deck with a ramp and a front wheel clamp. Best part it was FREE! Cool having a boss who rides and works on bikes as well.

Jeez, you must have an enormous garage.
...or a huge kitchen! :P
Lucky bastard.... That's awesome man...I've been hunting for a used lift myself.....
Check out a few places that sell the lifts and get yourself a wheel vice to bolt on there.....
Nice find.

I work for a material handling and storage company. Curtis (boss/owner) is always making deals with someone. There are several more of these among the 30 acres of stuff he has.
seen plans for one that uses a standard Floorjack as the lifting mechinism. gotta find it again
Hmmmmmm I wonder what shipping would cost to Maryland...
What's the "at rest" height of the platform by the way? Is it sitting all the way down in the pic?
It probably weighs about 200-300 pounds. Currently the deck sits about 14" off the ground. There are some stops preventing it from dropping any lower. Once those are removed, I would guess that it should sit 6-8" high.

So you saying If we drove up there with a suitable apparatus to transport this thing we could have one of these things each ...
Cool.
Srinath.
centerstand is good enough for me...
Yea for a GS the centerstand works fine ... but we have other contraptions that have all the stability of a wheelbarrow full of rocks ... and that is when they are on level ground ... BTW I actually have that hydraulic lift I got from werase ... This will actually be a welcome addition to my welders shop ... He has the air compressor as well ... I would use it when I go there with a bike problem ... whihc happens very often on the wheelbarrow's ...
Cool.

I need to be able to adjust the working height of my bikes. My knees and back just can't take the squating very long. I have put my self through a lot crap in 38 years.
that reminds me of lifting dr. wong's unit with scratch and cam70guy..
his was about 600lbs..
