Title: Carb Question
Post by: mtbman on November 22, 2004, 05:36:07 PM
What are the metal tubes for that come out of the bottom of the carbs.  They look like they are brass tubes for about a 1/4" hose and point downward, right near the fuel mixture screws.  Mine are just sitting there with no hoses.
thanks,
mike

Those are for draining the fuel out of the float bowls.

Can you see those tubes in this picture, mtbman?

If not, you may be looking at some CA-specific tubes that don't appear on bikes sold anywhere else in the world (as far as I know).  See the current discussion in the Carb. Hoses (http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13661) thread.

My bike isn't from Cali, but maybe the carbs are.  It was very peaced together when I bought it.  The tubes I am looking at are not in your pic, so it pretty much has to be a cali thing.
thanks
