Title: Parts Unlimited chain
Post by: Briggs on November 27, 2004, 06:17:19 PM
Winter is here and like alot of other people I am in the market for parts and mods. My first litttle project will be putting on a new chain and sprockets. I have read over and Mr. Kerrys' guide extensively.  (Thanks again Kerry) I am wondering if anyone has used the parts unlimited chain? Some feedback on it would be great. It seams like a good deal.

8400lbs tensile...  not bad.

see it here...

What do you think?

That chain looks just fine - and at a good price.  Just for kicks, here is a table I scanned (a little too small) out of a Dennis Kirk catalog a couple years ago.

According to this, the D.I.D. X-ring chain (520VM) that came on my '99 bike had a tensile strength of 8,120 and the D.I.D. O-ring chain (520V) I replaced it with is rated at 6,830.

I say "Go for it!"

Does anyone know who supplies Parts Unlimited with the chains?  I'm assuming its just a rebadged chain someone else makes
